Sustainability evidence that answers your customer, then pays its way
Nemetan helps UK and Irish suppliers meet their customers' sustainability demands, and treats each one as a chance to find savings in the business.

Mike Kelly CDir
Mike has spent more than 25 years building companies and learning the same lesson each time: the best opportunities are usually the ones nobody thought to look for.
Board-level training in risk, a banker's view of sustainable finance and a background in innovation mean he reads a supplier questionnaire the way your buyer, your board and your lender will.

Built on evidence of what has actually paid off
Clients get the assessment they came for. Those who want more can ask us to read the same data a second time, the way a good accountant reads your statutory accounts for where the margin is leaking. That draws on the Nemetan evidence base: more than 2,000 verified projects from real companies, each with documented results.
A project only gets in if it was fully implemented and delivered a business benefit and an environmental or social one from the same decision. So when we suggest a supplier could cut packaging costs or win work with a lower-carbon product, we can usually show a company that already did it.
Research
Nemetan's research found large European companies report sustainability risks two to three times as often as opportunities (The Opportunity Gap, Kelly, 2026). Mike's writing has appeared in Illuminem, SustainabilityOnline and OneStopESG. See news.
Where we work
Suppliers of 200 to 1,000 employees across the UK and Ireland that sell to large companies or the public sector. Mostly remote, with site visits where they help.
Questions about Nemetan
Where does the name Nemetan come from?
From the nemeton, a space set apart in the ancient Celtic world where a community's elders gathered to weigh hard questions and see clearly before they acted. You went there to think straight. Customer sustainability demands can feel like noise; Nemetan is meant to be that clear space.
What does the Nemetan logo mean?
The mark is an open green ring with a blue dot at its centre. The open ring is an O left unfinished: the opportunity that sustainability work so often leaves incomplete. Green is the colour we use for opportunity throughout our work, and the dot is the point we put back at the centre.
Do I have to take the cost-saving review?
No. If you need an EcoVadis rating or a Scope 3 assessment, that is what you get, at a fixed fee. The look at what your data could save or earn is there if you want it, and only then.
What counts as a sustainability opportunity?
A move where the business benefit and the environmental or social benefit come from the same decision. Using less material lowers cost; a cleaner product wins a tender. A cost that only buys goodwill doesn't count, and neither does a risk avoided and dressed up as a gain.
How much of the work is automated?
Tools do the repeatable work, such as organising documents and matching precedents. Every finding you receive is checked and judged by a person, with its assumptions and uncertainties written down.
